As Veterans Day activities drew to a close, one of our members received a call at work to retrieve one of our flags. So, how does one transport a flag mounted on a 9' staff? Well, through the sunroof of course. Rotarians and our flag partners do have fun.
Deploying and retrieving almost 1000 flags during our 5 patriotic holidays requires a lot of work and coordination by our members and community partners.
It was a pleasure Friday morning (Nov. 15) to support the Old High Soccer Booster Club for their support of our flag program that displays roughly a 1000 flags at houses in our community. They received a check above $1,500.00 for their support. Thank you Old High Soccer.
About the Flag Subscription Program.
The American Flag display gives our city a festive, patriotic look and the money realized from this program is donated to a number of worthwhile projects in our community and world.
Neighbors that wished to participate in the Rotary Club of Wichita Falls North’s American Flag Display Program did so for a yearly cost of $25.00 per flag, (this cost is for 1 flag all 5 holidays).
